6 Hampton Homework and Announcements

  September 10, 2010

First school dance is tonight! Tickets can be purchased at lunch (not at the door).  Dance information can be found in the student handbook.

Walking permission slips and team 6H movie list went home Tuesday. Please return both of these signed items as soon as possible. Our first walking field trip, "A walk through the Universe" will take place on Tuesday, September 14.

Green student info. forms went home Wednesday as well as a white packet describing the process to log-in to the MMS grading portal online. More information on MMS and Hampton Academy's grading procedures will be given on Curriculum Night, September 16. Please return both of these forms as soon as possible so that we can have the most recent information regarding your child.

Environmental Packets went home last Thursday.  Be sure to begin fundraising! All money and orders need to be returned by September 20th. Please look over these with your child and be sure to join us on Sept. 16 to learn more about this amazing experience. The information session for Environmental Camp will be in the Dining Hall at 7:45 following the BBQ (5:30) and curriculum night.

 6H Science homework for September 7 - September 10

  • Due Tuesday (9/14): Over the next few days/nights, observe the sky from your house as much as you can. Write one paragraph that discusses your observations. What objects did you see? What did they look like? Did you see differences from night to night? How do these objects move through the sky? Work on using your descriptive language. The following link has a video with pointers of what to look for: hubblesite.org/fun_.and._games/tonights_sky/ The second paragraph should discuss what you want to learn in the upcoming astronomy unit. What questions do you have about the universe?
  • Look through Environmental Camp packet (also available online) with your parents and begin fundraising. Fundraising forms and money due September 20.
